Public Information
The Department of Public Information initiates, develops and conducts planned public relations efforts for the Wayne County Commission in order to elevate the latter's identity in the media and increase public awareness throughout Wayne County.
The Department of Public Information, which works closely with the Chairperson of the Wayne County Commission, County Commissioners and Commission departments, is responsible for the preparation and dissemination of news releases, fact sheets and schedules; designing brochures and pamphlets; development of communication campaigns and strategies; photography to support communication and information programs and services; writing speeches and position papers; arranging press conferences; providing briefings and background sessions for the media and others; and writing ceremonial resolutions.
The Department of Public Information also includes a technology/graphics coordinator, who oversees the computer system and graphics design.
